Background

Troy McDougal has been a proud resident of Riverton City for over 25 years. A proud father of six, he chose to raise his family in Riverton because of the strong community values and the opportunity to be surrounded by good people who value a small community feel. He recognizes the increasing need to focus on building strong family centered communities, and to look toward the future in building a sustainable Riverton.
Through the years, Troy has found many small and simple ways to build his community as a little league and high school coach for football, basketball, soccer etc. He has also participated in community events and service programs. He would like to continue his community involvement and service by continuing to represent District 2 on the Riverton City Council.
Troy earned his Bachelor degree at Brigham Young University and his Master’s degree in education with an emphasis in teacher leadership from the University of Phoenix. Troy’s many years of diverse professional experience in real estate, agriculture, financial management, and education give him a broad perspective enabling him to make well-informed decisions. Troy has been a small business owner in Riverton City and gained insights into the business sector of Riverton through this experience. Troy values education, continual learning, and all opportunities to connect with others and serve his community.
